Suffolk Digital Cinema Network
The Suffolk Digital Cinema Network was launched in 2004. Its purpose was to enable communities to borrow the necessary equipment to show films in Village and Community Halls. Membership of the Network has grown to over 50 and several communities have purchased their own equipment.
Polstead Village Hall became a founder member of the Network's committee and Polstead Village Hall was one of the first villages to show films. The main funding organisations have been Screen East, the Awards for All Lottery Fund, EEDA, the Suffolk Development Agency, Babergh, Forest Heath, Mid-Suffolk and Suffolk Coastal District Councils. There are currently over 50 member groups showing films on a regular or occasional basis and there are four sets of equipment stored across the county for member groups to borrow.
